I think I can possibly add another day but not many more than that:ĭay 1 - Arrive in Reykjavik, explore the city (we are coming from the Southern US and it seems most flights seem to be overnight and get in early)ĭay 2 - Þingvellir, Strokkur, Gulfloss Waterfall. With that said, here is what I have *very* tentatively laid out.
SELFLOSS WATERFALL ZIP
Does this itinerary make sense or are we packing too much in? We almost always manage to zip through itineraries quickly (for instance, we drove the coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco with many stops - walks to lookouts, quick hikes, and short photo stops) in 2 days (most people recommend doing this drive in 3 days but we never felt rushed). Right now I am tentatively thinking 11 days, just based on how much time I can feasibly take off of work at one time. I know that is a long way away, but I am just now trying to determine how long my trip should be so that I can start watching airfares.

I am in the very, very early stages of planning a trip to Iceland for next summer.
